You are the Mugwort to my Henbane...

The Magickal Worlde of Herbs and Plants.

Utnapishtim said to him, to Gilgamesh:
Gilgamesh, you came here;
you strained and toiled.
What can I give you as you as return to your land?
Let me uncover for you, Gilgamesh, a secret thing.
A secret of the gods let me tell you.
There is a plant, its roots go deep, like the boxthorn;
Its spike will prick your hand like a bramble.
If you get your hands on the plant,
you'll have everlasting life.
-The Epic of Gilgamesh.

The herb doctors an physicians of Sumer, Babylon, Assyria and Egypt believed in no uncertain terms that their craft was a gift from the gods, and the gods themselves were its first practitioners. The knowledge of the curative properties of plants, water and oil was considered a divine art whose secrets were jealously guarded, and passed down in oral traditions. When men first learned to write they committed these teachings to clay tablets and rolls of papyrus, and drew up the first lists off medicinal herbs. In these ancient herbals medicine and magic are almost inextricably mixed together; though it is clear they had a very real knowledge of primitive medicine. As herbalists they took with them their box of medicines and as a magician their magic rods, which were the symbols of their profession.
-The Divine Origin of the Craft of the Herbalist.

Mugwort;
Used for Protection and Prophesy, my all-time favourite herb (You and your Mugwort Bella!) Dedicated to the goddesses Diana and Artemis, it was also believed that the knowledge of its supernatural powers were a gift given to humankind by mermaids, for the goode of all. It can be used to heal pain, and induce psychic powers and lucid dreaming.
Smoked at night, it can induce colourful and vibrant lucid dreaming, placed underneath your pillow sleep can cause not only wonderful visions, but also astral travelling, dreams of prophesy and meanings. A word of precaution for my favourite herb, never use in any way if pregnant and expecting childe, it can induce miscarriages by relaxing the uterus.

Damiana;
This sex magick herb is an aphrodisiac of the Divine, a gift of the gods and goddesses bestowed upon us to enjoy and be able to succumb to the depths of sensuality and the art of making Love. This herb may increase fertility and the libido of both men and women, so it is best to use at most two or three times a week, or as required.

Aphrodisiac Damiana Tea:
Drink two cups of the boiled Damiana each day; one teaspoon per cup sweetened with honey to taste. This delicious, but slightly acrid tasty tea will enhance your love- making abilities and attractiveness to others, word of caution though, this may include members of your own sex!

Damiana Liquor Love Potion:
  1. Soak 25 grams of dried damiana in 500 ml of Vodka or Tequila for 5 days
  2. Pour off the liquid, strain, and filter through a coffee filter paper
  3. Soak the remaining alcohol-drenched leaves in another 500 ml of distilled or spring water for another 5 days
  4. Pour off the liquids, strain and filter as before
  5. Warm this extract to about 70.c (160.f) and dissolves half to one cup of honey, depending on the sweetness required
  6. Combine the alcohol and water extract. This potion is very yummy and works immediately once drunk, have either hot or cold over ice.
